Tostones are sliced green plantains that are fried twice and either served with salt, cheese, a dipping sauce or a pickled pepper mixture. They are a delicacy in many Central and South American countries, as well as in the Caribbean islands. Tostones are also known as Patacones in some South American countries. No matter what the name, the recipe stays basically the same and they are a must have. We recommend you have them with Beans as a dip.
